There aren’t always assistants
for the section editors, but if you do have an assistant sports editor it will be your responsibility to train them on the
aspects that they will need to know to one day become sports editor. These assistants will be expected to take on a heavy
load when it comes to doing articles for the section. Many times the assistants have to do all of the articles that aren’t
taken by staff writers and that the editor can’t do themselves. It is also suggested that you start training the assistants
on how to properly edit the articles as well as laying the articles, photos and graphics on the In Design page.
